Reasonable review steps for listing freshness, clarity and basic rental details.

What we check

Basic listing information reviewed

Before a listing may be published, RentVerified reviews submitted details for clarity and consistency, including:

  • Area and location information
  • Monthly rent amount
  • Availability status
  • Bedrooms, bathrooms and furnished status where provided
  • Deposit or advance payment details where provided
  • Fresh photos or video
  • Authorised contact person and permission to list
  • Review date (RentVerified)

What we do not check

Verification is not a guarantee

RentVerified does not guarantee or independently confirm:

  • Legal ownership or title
  • Tenancy agreements or lease terms
  • Property condition, defects or repairs
  • Neighbourhood safety or suitability
  • Utility costs, service charges or hidden fees
  • That a deposit or advance payment is fair or refundable
  • That the property will remain available after publication

RentVerified does not collect rent, deposits or broker fees. Tenancy and payment arrangements remain between the tenant and the property contact.

What prospective tenants must verify themselves

Your own checks still matter

Even when a listing shows a Checked by RentVerified status, prospective tenants should still:

  • Visit or inspect the property in person
  • Verify who has authority to rent the property
  • Review tenancy terms, notice periods and payment schedules
  • Confirm deposit, advance and broker fee details in writing
  • Avoid paying before viewing, document checks and a proper agreement
  • Not pay rent, deposits or broker fees through anyone claiming to represent RentVerified
  • Keep records of messages, receipts and agreements
  • Seek professional advice where needed

What “Listing Checked” means

Checked by RentVerified

A listing may show Checked by RentVerified when RentVerified has reviewed basic submitted information for clarity, freshness and reasonable consistency before publication.

Clear rental costs — where confirmed, RentVerified shows whether any broker fee is payable by the tenant.

Some listings may also show RV Visited (displayed on listings with a completed site visit) where a local verifier has physically visited the property and confirmed that listing details broadly match the property. This status appears only where a visit has been completed.

These statuses help prospective tenants compare listings with clearer information. They are not a substitute for your own inspection, document checks or payment decisions.
